      As a decade has passed since those first online courses were delivered, my online teaching philosophy has also evolved.  At the core of this, is the client I wholly believe in a client centered approach.  With the right tools, every individual can learn and be successful.  At the heart of this is providing a number of opportunities for the client to learn.  These opportunities should be authentic and relevant to the individual in which they can construct new knowledge on the foundation of their prior experiences. 

 

Clients should be able to access materials that appeal to them, these materials should be developed with the understanding that individuals have differing learning styles and that although we should be able to adapt, we should also provide them information that can be readily utilized by them.  Clients should have access to the services that they need to succeed.  This includes tutoring, advising, counseling, disability services, library, etc.
